DAV Public Schol, Alkusa, Dhanbad feels the pride of being the Mother institution of all DAV Schools established in Coalfield belt, committed to impart holistic education and inculcate spiritual, moral, social and cultural values to the children of the miners.
Intoduction:-
On invitation from coal India Lid. DAV College Trust and managing committee came forward to manage schools for the public sector undertakings. Under this scheme: DAV Public school, Alkusa was founded in 1982 as the first project school of coal India in Dhanbad. Mr. B.R. Prasad, chairman cum managing director, Bharat Coking Coal Lit. Inaugurated the school on 21stJuly 1982.
Our first batch of students appeared for CBSE examination in the year 1986 and came with flying colours.The school has been excelling not only in academics, sports & arts but also in community welfare programmes like Tree plantation, Adult Literacy Campaign & Health Awareness campaign etc.
The original site of the school was at Alkusa on Jharia Road where the School was founded in 1982. Now the new location is on the national Highway No. 32 near Putki.
