Music competition – Gayatri Mantra/Prayer Song – 20-6-2021
Our school organised an Online Music Competition for class LKG to Std.:- XII. The theme of the competition was Gayatri Mantra and Prayer Song.
Group-1 LKG to Std. II
Group-2 Std- III to Std- VI
Group-3 Class-VII to IX
Group-4 Class-X to XII
Students were asked to make a video of maximum one minute with the get up of a Pandit/Sanyasi. Twenty six students participated in this competition from LKG to XII.
International Yoga Day (21-6-2021)
On the occasion of International Yoga Day, the students of our school performed various ‘Yogasanas’ under the guidance of P.Ed teacher Mr. S.K.Saha. The students performed the ‘Yoga’ in their respective home from 7:00 am to 8:00 am with the help of a virtual instruction by Mr. S.K.Saha. The students performed the three categories of “Aasanas”, i.e., standing, sitting, and laying yogasana. Students performed Yogasanas like Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastaasana, Ardhchakraasana, Padmaasana, Vajraasana, Shashankaasana, Bhujangaasana, Shalbhaasana, Halaasana, Shavasana, Kapalbhaati, Anulom-Vilom etc. The event was ended with the recitation of 'Shanti Path' by the students. All the students performed the Yogasanas with good posture. All the images were sent to us through whatsapp.
Farewell to Sri Akhilesh Singh and Sri Nakul Handi (30-6-2021)
The school bid a farewell Sri Akhilesh Singh and to Sri Nakul Handi. Both the staff served the school for twenty five years. Addressing the audience, the Principal Sri S.K.Sinha remembered the contributions of both the staff. He admired the calmness of the retiring persons. Sri. R.K.Singh exclaimed that both the men worked very hard for the beautification of the school. Principal Sir presented them a shawl, bouquet, gifts and sweets on this occasion. COVID protocols were strictly followed.
Special Hawan (11-5-2021 to 13-5-2021)
As per the message from the Regional Directorate office dated 9-5-2021, the school conducted ‘Three Days Hawan’ from 11-5-2021 to 13-5-2021 to cope up the COVID-19. As per Hindu Mythology, Hawan is very effective to kill germs and purify the environment. These Hawan is very useful; as it gives inner strength and mental piece beside the purification of surroundings.
Poster Making Competition (18-5-2021)
Our School organised a ‘Poster Making Competition.’ The details were as follows:- The competition was organised online mode. The theme was ‘SAFETY AGAINST CORONA’. There were three categories:-
Group -1 Class II to V
Group -2 Class VI to VIII
Group -3 Class IX to XII
Students prepared attractive posters on an A4 size drawing sheet and write their name, class, section, admission number and name of their respective Sadan (House). The last date of submission of the poster was 31-5-2021.
A salute of honour to Sri A.Roychoudhury (29-5-2021)
The school bid a farewell to the Chairman LMC cum General Manager, P.B. Area, Sri A.Roychoudhury in a grand way. Sri Choudhury served as G.M of P.B area since May 2020. Addressing the audience, the Principal Sri S.K.Sinha said that the school developed a lot under his guidance and cooperation. Sri Choudhury stood against all odds and worked for the welfare of the school. His cooperation towards the school can never be forgotten. Sri Choudhury blessed the school staff and assured every possible support and cooperation as per his ability in future also. On this occasion Sri Choudhury inaugurated two class room of Mahatma Grover Block-2. A Hawan was also performed in his honour. Some teachers and BCCL officials were present in this occasion. COVID protocols were strictly followed.
Mahatma Hansraj Birth Anniversary (19-4-2021)
The School celebrated 157th birth anniversary of Mahatma Hansraj. He was the founder of D.A.V Public Schools, Lahore. Principal Sir, Sri S.K.Sinha offered flowers at his statue and remembered his selfless services in the field of education. Teachers and other staff were present on this occasion.
Launch/Book release of ‘Meri Ek Kahani’ by TERI (22-4-2021)
TERI launched the book ‘Meri Ek Kahani’ which is a compilation of many stories written by the students of those schools which are associated with the Green School Project and TERI. Four of our students – Nikita Kumari, Silpi Das, Sujata Marandi and Gaurav Sinha found place in this book. Their stories were appreciated and published by TERI. 16 students from our school participated in this competition. THE ENVIRONMENT DAY (05-06-2021)
As you know that 5th June is celebrated as the Environment Day all over the world.
On this auspicious day you all are advised to plant at least one sapling/plant in your courtyard and click a photo and sent it to your respective class teachers.
Besides this you are also requested to make posters on 'ENVIRONMENT DAY' and share it with your class teachers.
